Tirupati, Mar 4 (UNI) Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday exhorted upon need for all scientific, technical, law and medical education to be in Indian languages to facilitate large number of youth in the country.
Speaking at the sixth anniversary of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) here, Mr Naidu heralded the use of Indian languages in all spectrum of education and local administration including judicial affairs.
He said education and administration in Indian language will go a long way in preserving Indian heritage , enhancing Indian cultural relations across the country and enthuse the youth in nation building activities.
He said the Covid pandemic had not touched the Indian farming community in view of their 'desi' food and exercise formats.
He was happy that the IIT for which he laid foundation stone in 2015 had flourished into a megs institution in Tirupati, which has developed into a education hub in the country with universities and higher studies institutions.
He also made a case for promotion of Food technology and other new innovations along with IIT.
He urged students to follow in the footsteps of Abdul Kalam and Swami Vivekananda in achieving their goals and dreams.
Earlier, the Vice President unveiled a book on 'Varasatva Nirmala'.
IIT Director Satyanarayana highlighted the progress of the institute which had 1050 students with 70 projects and 19 of them were chosen for awards every year.
AP Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and Government Chief Whip Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy were present on the occasion.
