Ahmedabad: Stopped from wearing short shirt, youth beats father

AHMEDABAD: A 20-year-old youth allegedly thrashed his father after the 42-year-old objected to him wearing his younger brother’s shirt. The youth also reportedly beat up other members of his family and ransacked his own house in Juhapura.
Siraj Shaikh, a resident of Ronak Park Society behind APMC market in Juhapura, told Vejalpur police that the incident took place on Tuesday night when his elder son Shehzad wore his younger son Zaid’s shirt to go out.
Shaikh, who runs a chicken shop, said, “I told Shehzad not to wear Zaid’s shirt as it was quite short, and Shehzad did not look good in it. This did not go well with Shehzad who began abusing me. He kept saying that he could wear whatever he wanted to wear and nobody should object to it.”
Shaikh said Shehzad hit him and his brother Sameer when they tried to pacify the youth. Shehzad also pushed Shaikh’s mother due to which she suffered injuries.
