Dentists’ appointments can be the most dreadful experiences for some people as one has to sit for hours with mouth wide open while a complete stranger judges your oral hygiene habits. Dental procedures like root canal, tooth extraction or cleaning add to the nightmare with the amount of pain they cause. But thankfully, muscle relaxants and tranquilizing agents have made our visits less painful; the experience is still filled with drama and unfortunate accidents.
Most of us have some embarrassing stories of disastrous dentist visits we always remember. One such humiliating incident that took place over a decade ago is doing rounds on social media.
According to UNILAD, 29-year-old Chelsey, from northern California shared her decade-old dentist appointment experience on Twitter on February 20. The story she shared took place when she was 19 but the story stuck with her through the years. She was scheduled to have an emergency root canal prior to which she was given some Valium, a muscle relaxant to take beforehand.
The medication was handed to her mother who was advised to give Chelsey only half a dose because of her young age and Valium being a strong drug. However, her mother gave Chelsey a full dose and events that followed couldn’t be more embarrassing.
Recalling the day, Chelsey says she has little memory of what happened and only remembers taking the Valium and getting into the car with her mother to go to the dentist only to wake up at 7pm on the couch at her home with a towel on her face and no recollection of events of last few hours.
Yes. An emergency root canal when I was 19, my dentist gave me Valium to take beforehand and my mom gave me too much and I had an amnesia episode where I puked on the dentist and bit him. I have a temp crown on it that I’ve had to get fixed 2 times.— Cat Food Casserole (@mildbabyshampoo) February 19, 2021
On Twitter, she explained that her mother filled her in about what happened at the dentist’s clinic, something she wouldn’t have expected ever. She had puked on the doctor as soon as she was seated into the chair and even bit the medic when he attempted to open her mouth for the procedure.
The doctor was forced to put on a temporary crown on her teeth and after knowing what she did, she chose never to visit him again.
