    Actis plans to sell green energy platform Sprng in 2022; to invest $1 billion in India by FY26

    Actis invests in India through two routes -- Actis energy funds and the Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund

    Synopsis

    “Actis will look to sell the Sprng business in 2022. By then, we should have 2,000-2,400 mw of operating capacity. I can’t talk about the valuation, but if you have a good quality asset, you get good value for it,” Sanjiv Aggarwal, partner - energy at Actis PE, said. “We are focusing on building high-quality assets.”

    UK-based private equity firm Actis plans to sell its renewable energy platform in India, Sprng Energy, next year and is simultaneously looking to invest $1 billion in the country by financial year 2026, a top executive told ET. Actis PE, an early and prolific player in India’s renewable energy market, had earlier created a renewable energy platform - Ostro Energy Private, with a capacity of 1,100 megawatts (mw).
