It has previously been rumoured that the sixth generation iPad mini will be released in the spring, but now there is information suggesting that the launch may be postponed until the autumn.
According to the Korean site Naver, the iPad mini is "currently in the design P2 stage, beyond the R&D stage and the planning stage, and seems to be moving to the DVT P3 stage sooner or later."
Based on this development schedule, Naver concludes that the iPad mini pro model "will be released in the second half of the year".
Naver also indicates that screen size will increase from 7.9in to 8.7in and that the new model will be slightly longer than the current one.
Previous rumours have suggests d a screen size of 8.4in.
In all likelihood, we'll be offered upgraded components such as a faster processor and the like, but Apple will probably choose to keep Touch ID instead of switching to Face ID.
It has also been rumoured that the model will be equipped with the new rear lighting mini-LED, but no concrete evidence that this will be the case has been presented.
