Baijal, wife receive first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and his wife Mala Bhagat on Thursday

received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine here at the Tirath Ram Shah Hospital.

The Lieutenant Governor received the vaccine jab on the fourth day of the second phase of the nationwide vaccination drive against the COVID-19.

In a tweet, the Delhi Lieutenant Governor said, 'Recieved the first dose of COVID-19 #vaccine at Tirath Ram Shah Hospital. Appeal to all eligible persons to come forward and get vaccinated to finally defeat the #COVID19 pandemic.'

The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 and vaccination of the frontline workers (FLWs) started from February 2.

The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination has commenced on March 1 for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions.
