External Affairs Minister to visit Dhaka

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Dhaka on Thursday.
Dr Jaishankar will be visiting Dhaka at the invitation of Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, External Affairs Ministry announced here.
During the visit Dr. Jaishankar will meet his Bangladeshi counterpart as well as call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The visit of External Affairs Minister to Bangladesh follows on the PM-level virtual summit held between the two countries on December 17 last year and will also provide an opportunity to take stock of the progress in bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to visit Dhaka this month to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Bangladesh's independence as well as the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh government has planned a ten-day long programme from March 17 to 26 to mark the two important occasions.
