The result of the Delhi municipal bypolls, in which the ruling AAP won four seats and Congress one, showed that both parties teamed up against BJP, Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta said on Wednesday.

Adesh Gupta said the decrease in vote share of Congress in Shalimar Bagh and its increase in vote share in Chauhan Bangar are proof that Congress and AAP conspired against BJP.

"In the last polls, Congress had got 8,000 votes from Shalimar Bagh, which has now come down to 2,000, while in Chauhan Bangar area, its vote share has gone up, which shows how they worked in tandem against us," he added.

The Delhi BJP president said the party would soon introspect the reasons for its performance. "We will see what went wrong and try to rectify it," he said.

Gupta further said there is a vast difference between by-elections and the main elections and asserted that BJP's performance in all the three corporations has been very good and people trust the party.

"We will try to overcome the shortcomings that we have. We have sufficient time to do so," he said.
