Overall, 42 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 8 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Adani Ports SEZ, Grasim Industries and Hindalco Industries were among top gainers, while Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, Eicher Motors and M&M were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 458.44 points up at 50755.33. Traders were seen piling up position in Metals - Ferrous, Irrigation & Allied Services, Textiles, Diversified and Packaging sectors, while selling were visible in Infrastructure, Trading, Auto, IT - Hardware and Apparels sectors.
