Haryana DGP Manoj Yadava gets year’s extension

CHANDIGARH: The Union ministry of home affairs on Tuesday gave the go ahead to Haryana government to give extension to DGP Manoj Yadava.
According to orders released by the ministry of home affairs (MHA), Yadava has been given a one-year extension as additional director of IB. MHA communicated the same to the Haryana government through additional chief secretary (ACS), home Rajiv Arora.
According to the communication, Yadava has got extension as additional director of IB till February 2022. The development comes a day after CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s assertion that Yadava would continue as DGP till further orders.
The 1988 batch IPS officer joined as Haryana DGP on February 20. Two years before the end of his tenure, Haryana government gave him an extension beyond February 22 till further orders.
Since home minister Anil Vij was not in favour of the extension, he directed the ACS, home to prepare a fresh panel of three IPS officers for selection of one as the next DGP.
This triggered a silent war between the HM office and the CMO.
While CM asserted that Yadava would continue as DGP, he said he would talk it out with Vij. It is learned that Yadava has been empanelled for DG rank in the Central government and he had also expressed keenness to join but the state government decided to given him an extension.
