CHANDIGARH: In compliance of the orders of the State Government, Haryana Police today launched another 2-week special campaign to educate the public about the wearing of face masks and also to enforce it strictly.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Navdeep Singh Virk said on Wednesday that in view of the recent spurt in Covid-19 infections, and the casual attitude seen amongst people these days, we are starting another 2-week campaign to make people aware of the risk of infection. The campaign started from March 1 and will continue upto March 16, 2021.
He said that special focus would be kept out on high risk public places with large footfall like markets, bus stands, taxi stands, and parks etc where the norms are being seen to be flouted. During the drive, people will be educated and sensitized about the importance of compulsory wearing of face masks in public places. Police would also distribute face masks free of cost to the citizens.
As a part of the campaign, senior police officers will visit public places to motivate and educate people about the use of face masks.
All the Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police in the state have been directed to carry out intensive campaign in this direction to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
