Ranchi, Mar 3 (UNI) Jharkhand Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon today said that the main focus of the state's annual budget is to strengthen life and livelihood.
Addressing a press conference after tabling 2021-22 annual budget of Rs 91,277 crore in the assembly, Dr Oraon said Covid-19 has adversely impacted the internal resources of the state while the state's share in the central taxes has been also reduced.
He criticised the deduction of state government's dues to DVC by RBI from the consolidated funds, and added that the state is taking all measures to boost its resources during the current fiscal.
In order to increase the revenues,more funds have been allocated for capital expenditure, he stated.
The government has given more focus to the social sector and earmarked a sum of Rs 33,625.72 crore for spending under the category.
Highlighting some of the key features of the budget, Dr Oraon said a sum of Rs 1200 crore has been set aside in the current fiscal for providing farm loan waiver while no new taxes have been proposed in the budget.
