MANGALURU: Early Learning Centre, Mangaluru has bagged the Innovative Pedagogy Award instituted by Education World for the year 2020-21. The award was given for ELC’s innovative curriculum adopted in its pre-school.
Vijay Moras, programme co-ordinator at ELC and CFAL said, with this award, the institution ranks 10th in India, third in the state and first in Mangaluru in the Innovative Pedagogy category list released by Education World.
“The award was conferred in recognition to ELC’s constant endeavour to demonstrate extraordinary capability to break away from rote learning and introducing experiential education at the Pre-school level”, he said.
Moras said the school promotes, fosters creativity and innovation in children rather than expecting them to conform to pre-determined standards.
The juries of the awards encourage and felicitate pre-primaries which have introduced contemporary pedagogies and practices in early childhood care and education, especially in smaller non-metro towns and cities.
