IPL 2021: Punjab Kings CEO says, ‘waiting for BCCI’s response, we want to play in Mohali’

IPL 2021 – Punjab Kings: The CEO of Indian Premier League team (IPL 2021) Punjab Kings is waiting for BCCI’s response to his plea. As reported by InsideSport.co,, Punjab Kings had shot off a mail to BCCI on Tuesday requesting them to include Mohali in the list of IPL venues. According to CEO of Kings XI, BCCI is yet to respond on their request.

‘We have written to BCCI, they are yet to respond. If the Covid-19 cases are a concern than their are cases everywhere. In-fact in Chandigarh and Mohali cases are far less than anywhere else. It is difficult to understand why BCCI has decided to exclude Mohali from the IPL Venues list. We will look forward to there response’, said Satish Menon, CEO of Punjab Kings

According to another Punjab Kings officials they are still hopeful for a ‘last-minute turnaround’ with a belief in a ‘change of heart’ within the corridors of power in BCCI and IPL governing council as hectic parleys are on. On Tuesday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had also expressed his shock on the exclusion of Mohali as IPL venue. Punjab Kings officials believe they are confident of positive turnaround in the situation.

“Its a question of losing home advantage. So we are very keen to have Mohali as one of the venues and talking to BCCI on a day to day basis on the possible inclusion of Mohali. We are sure IPL governing council will talk to us before arriving at a final decision.”, said one of the top official of Punjab Kings franchise to InsideSport.

Though BCCI is yet to officially release the venues list but according to the sources, IPL 2021 will only be held in 6 cities — Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Teams like Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are the biggest losers and are reportedly very unhappy and concerned about the issue.
