AP Guv couple  administered first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine

Vijayawada, Mar 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and his wife Suprava Harichandan were administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the new Government Hospital in Gunadala here on Tuesday.

The Governor and his wife received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the third phase of vaccination programme.

The Governor and his wife were administered the ‘Covaxin’ vaccine which is fully developed and manufactured in India by Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) in Hyderabad.

Ms.Jhansi, Nurse of the New Government Hospital administered the vaccine to the Governor and the Lady Governor under the supervision of Hospital Superintendent Dr.K Shiva Shankar.

The doctors told the Governor couple that the second dose of the vaccine would be administered to them after March 30.

Talking to the media, the Governor said that he did not feel any inconvenience while being administered the vaccine and called upon the people to get vaccinated to root out the pandemic from the country.

Krishna District Collector Imtiaz Ahmed, Dr. Shyam Prasad, Vice Chancellor of Dr. NTR Health University, District Medical & Health Officer, Joint Director (Immunisation), Dr. Rajesh and Mukesh Kumar Meena, Secretary to Governor were among those who were present on the occasion.
