China, which failed to infiltrate the LAC in eastern Ladakh, is now engaged in carrying out cyberattacks on India. China-sponsored group of hackers has tried to target the IT system of vaccine maker Serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech in India in the last few weeks. Cyber intelligence firm Cyfirma has given this information to a news agency.
China, which gives corona disease to the world, is upset that India has emerged as a global leader in the war against this disease. He has also lagged behind India in vaccine diplomacy. India produces more than 60 percent of the total vaccines sold in the world.
Goldman Sachs-backed Singapore and Tokyo-based cybersecurity firm Cypher have said that the Chinese hacking group APT-10, also known as Stone Panda, has launched India Biotech and Serum Institute of India, the world's largest vaccine company. The gaps between IT infrastructure and supply chain software and some of its weaknesses were explored.
Ritesh, CEO of the UK Foreign Intelligence Agency MI-6 and CEO of Cypher, said, "Its main objective is to infiltrate intellectual property and gain from Indian pharmaceutical companies." He said that APT-10 is targeting SII again and again. The company is producing AstraZeneca's vaccine for several countries in the world and will soon produce 'Novavax' as well.
Ritesh said, 'In the case of Serum Institute they (hackers) found that some of their public servers are running on weak web servers. They have talked about weak web applications, they are also talking about weak content-management systems. This is very worrying. '
This news has come at a time when a report has claimed that in October last year, Chinese hackers in Mumbai conspired to disrupt the electricity supply across the country by a cyber attack. He wanted India to get scared and not adopt a more aggressive attitude on the border. China, through its hacker group Red Echo, carried out the attack on India's power system through malware shadow pads.
Let us know that there was historically a power failure in Mumbai last year, due to it is being considered a cyberattack by Chinese hackers. The Ministry of Power admitted on Monday that CERT had warned the power company by sending a mail about this cyber attack on 19 November 2020. The ministry said that on November 19, the mail received from the Computer Emergency Response Team, or CERT, was sent to the power supply centers across the country. According to him, all the centers had taken measures to deal with this danger.
