Coimbatore: Customs officials seized a 1kg gold bar valued at 47.65 lakh from a man at the Coimbatore International Airport on Monday.
Balu of Sivaganga had left for the Gulf on February 21 in search of job, an official said. “When he ran out of money there, someone asked him to smuggle the gold bar in return of 30,000 and free air ticket. Balu had landed here in an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah.”
