In order to win a jarring and bizarre bet, a man cut off a teacher’s penis with a 12-inch kitchen knife. In an even more bizarre turn of events, the victim fully knew he was going to be amputated.
According to reports, the Spanish rapper was in a kind of online challenge to get the most views on a video featuring amputation. Aaron Beltran, the accused, was offered a sum of 200 Euros (approximately INR 17,500) by his flatmate to make an amputation video and if the number of views was above a certain limit on social media, he would receive the decided amount.
If the video went really viral and exceeded another limit, he would receive a maximum payment of 2,500 Euros (INR 2,20,440). He then proceeded to create the amputation video in March 2019. A group of prosecutors in Zaragoza are hoping to get the man at least six years in prison if the accusations are proven right.
While the accused is a Spanish national, the victim is a Briton only identified as Andrew. He worked as a language teacher in Zaragoza. He also happens to share the flat with Beltran and was the one who offered up the bet in the first place.
The police were called to a city center street near the same flat after Andrew was bleeding heavily out in public.
In a shocking revelation, the prosecutors admitted the amputation was “consensual.” This means the man volunteered to Beltran to be a part of the amputation-gory video challenge. However, the prosecutors maintain the accused should be held criminally responsible and stand in the trial.
The man’s genital was found inside the flat, wrapped in a plastic bag. He was taken to a hospital where it was reattached at Zaragoza’s Miguel Servet Hospital.
According to reports, Andrew has not pressed any charges and has returned to the United Kingdom after spending three weeks in the hospital. Beltran’s lawyers maintain Andrew had gender dysphoria and that’s why he bet that his male sex organ should be taken off in the guise of an online video virality challenge. Beltran has been in custody for four months and the lawyers think that’s enough punishment for taking up the bet.
