22 cybercriminals arrested with 32 mobile phones in Deoghar

Deoghar, Mar 2 (UNI) In a major success for the district police against its battle with the cybercriminals a total of 22 such miscreants have been arrested following a series of raids which were conducted under different police station areas of this district.
Addressing a Press Conference on Tuesday Deoghar SP Ashwani Kumar Sinha said that a special investigation team conducted raids across several locations spread under Budhai, Kairon, Pathrol, Madhupur and Sarath police station areas and arrested these 22 criminals.
From the arrested 32 mobile phones, 59 SIM cards, 11 ATM cards, 12 passbooks and two cheque books have been recovered. The SP said that these cybercriminals used to pose as Bank officials and after obtaining secret information from the customers in the name of KYC updating or restarting closed ATM cards used to dupe the money.
