Delhi: Man, brother object to rash driving, stabbed

A man was stabbed to death while his brother was critically injured when they objected to three men allegedly driving a motorcycle negligently in Bindapur near Dwarka on Sunday night. Police have arrested the three men and have recovered the knife used in the crime. The three accused have been identified as Piyush Sharma alias Kaku (19), Sandeep Sharma (31) and Shiv Narayan (32). According to police, information was received around 1 am on Monday from a hospital that two men—Suraj Prakash Singh (30) and his brother Chandan Parkash Singh (28)— had been admitted with stab wounds. After the cops reached the hospital, Suraj told them that when he and his brother were walking back home, a man known in the area as Kaku brushed past them on a motorcycle.

Delhi: 175 new cases in last 24 hrs, positivity rate rises to 0.44%

The capital recorded 175 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, while the positivity rate rose to 0.44% against 0.34% recorded on Sunday, stated the data shared by Delhi health department. Another fatality pushed the death toll to 10,911, the authorities said, adding that infection tally currently stood at 6,39,464. RREAD MORE

Delhi reported the first case of Covid-19 on March 2 after an east Delhi businessman who had returned from Italy a week earlier tested positive. Within days, more people who had travelled to countries struggling with the outbreak proved positive for Covid too, leading to a health and social crisis. The scare wasn’t unfounded.
