By-elections in Rajasthan will be held soon for the four assembly seats. However, the election schedule has not been announced by the Election Commission yet. Now the election schedule can be announced anytime.
However, the Election Department is looking forward to these elections. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that because of Corona in the by-election, candidates have been given the option of online nomination along with offline. In the by-election, the option of the postal ballot will also be given to the elderly above 80 years, Corona suspects, quarantines, and more than 40 percent of disabled voters.
The department, however, has also reduced the number of star campaigners during the by-election in view of the Corona infection. In this regard, Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that in view of Corona, the limit of star campaigners for candidates has also been controlled.
While their number has been reduced from 40 to 30 for national or regional parties, other political parties will be able to call only 15-star campaigners as against 20. Apart from this, the list of campaigners will also have to be submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer on the 10th day of the election proclamation. Significantly, by-elections will be held in Sujangarh, Vallabhnagar, Rajsamand, and Sahada assembly constituencies in Rajasthan.
