CHANDIGARH:
Haryana health minister Anil Vij, who launched the third phase of
Covid-19 vaccination in the state on Monday, said he did not need the vaccine as his antibodies count was around 300 because of the shots taken during trials. Even chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar did not opt for the vaccination, saying, “My antibodies count is above 100. I have consulted the physician as well. She has not advised this as of now.”
Urging people to take the vaccine, Vij tweeted, “Today, corona vaccine is going to be launched for the general public. Everyone should take the Covid-19 vaccine without hesitation. I will not take it as after getting contracted with Covid my antibody is 300, which is very high. Perhaps it is the contribution of trial vaccine that I had taken. I do not need a vaccine yet.”
In his another tweet, he said, “Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi Ji is the true hero of the nation, he had always shown the way to the country... Today, he has also taken the corona vaccine first so that people do not have any kind of misconception and people do not get into the propaganda of the opposition and go ahead and get the vaccination done.”
Vij said that during the third phase, vaccine will be administered in 386 private hospitals empanelled under government hospitals and Ayushman Bharat Yojana. It will be administered free of cost in all government hospitals of the state, while its cost will be Rs 250 per dose in private hospitals. The cost of Rs 250 includes Rs 150 as charge for the vaccine and Rs 100 as service charge by hospitals.
