Stopped for bidi, delivery boy robbed of phone in Chandigarh

PANCHKULA: Three men on a motorcycle allegedly robbed a mobile phone and purse from a 34-year-old delivery boy at knifepoint near Sector 5 on Sunday night.
Parshu Ram, a resident of Sector 4, works at a hotel in Sector 5. He was walking back home around 11.15pm, when the accused stopped their bike next to him and one of them asked him for a bidi.
When he replied he does not smoke, another person allegedly slapped him, pointed a knife at his stomach and snatched hi mobile phone. The third accused snatched his purse from his pocket containing Rs 1,500, ATM card and other documents. Police registered a case under Sections 392 (punishment of robbery) of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector 5 police station. No arrests have been made so far.
