Bombay HC rejects plea to postpone 'Gokul' general election

Kolhapur, Mar 2 (UNI) The way of holding election of Kolhapur District Milk Producers Institution, popularly known as 'Gokul', was cleared on Tuesday after Bombay High court rejected the plea of Gokul institution to postpone the election along with other cooperative institutions in the state.

Cooperation department had postponed the elections of cooperative institutions including sugar factories in the state due to spreading again corona epidemic in the the state till March 31,2021and excluded elections of institutions in the state those court ordered to held elections as like Gokul.

But Jotirling Dudh' Sanstha, Of Kerli village of this district had admitted a plea to take election immediately of Gokul Institution following a election process has already announced and process of taking election has already began. On this plea, high court ordered on February 10 and on this order State Election Authority ordered to continue next steps of scheduled election process.

After this for getting clarity of high court's order, Gokul administration admitted a plea in the Bombay High court with requesting for clarity and to postpone its election also along with other cooperative institutions as per ordered by cooperation department.

In today's hearing, high court rejected the plea of Gokul Dudh'Sanstha and cleared the way for holding Gokul's general elections. Now as per election process, the final voters list would publish on March 12 and then the election programme would announce.
