India vs England: After 4th Test, Mumbai Indians Jasprit Bumrah will also be rested for T20 and ODI series against England

India vs England Series: Jasprit Bumrah will not only miss 4th test starting from Thursday but will also be rested from the 5 Match T20 and 3 Match ODI Series against England. According to the available information, Bumrah will now only be seen in action in IPL 2021 where he spearhead’s Mumbai Indians bowling attack.

The three-match ODI series starts on March 23. The series will be played in bio-bubble without crowds in Pune.

Bumrah was earlier released from the India squad ahead of the fourth Test after the 27-year-old cited personal reasons.

His unavailability will allow India to try out a new player in white-ball cricket, reported Cricbuzz.

The pacer was playing continuous cricket since the Indian Premier League in October. Mohammad Siraj is another player who is not named in the T20I series. The inform bowler is likely to help RCB in the upcoming season.

Over the years, we have seen very few players get the necessary break ahead of the IPL due to a tight international schedule. The current restrictions of playing in bio-bubble could take a mental toll on the players.

Chakravarty fails fitness Test ahead of T20I series against England

Meanwhile, spinner Varun Chakravarty has failed to pass a fitness test conducted by the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru last week. He underwent the YO-YO test and couldn’t complete the task as required. The 29-year-old was sent to Mumbai to play a practice match after spending three months at the NCA.

Around 35 players underwent fitness tests by the NCA. As per the report, one of the players in the T20I setup also failed to pass the fitness Test.

With less than two weeks left ahead of the T20I series, it is highly likely that the player along with Chakravarty could be sent for another YO-YO test.
