The newest manufacturer in India – Citroen will launch its first car in the Indian market soon. The manufacturer has started accepting the bookings for its first launch in the Indian market – the C5 Aircross. The booking amount is set at Rs 50,000 and the official price announcement will happen in early April 2021.

With Citroen starting to accept the bookings for the C5 Aircross, it has also launched the La Maison Citroen showrooms in Delhi and Gurugram. La Maison, which stands for The House in French will be the brand’s flagship showrooms across India. The new showrooms are described as “Phygital” as they will have a physical presence as well as online experience including high definition 3D configurator, Citroen Origins touchscreen and more.

“We are excited to innovate and launch the “La Maison Citroën” in India and the Delhi and Gurugram phygital showroom is an important milestone as we gear up towards the launch of our first car C5 Aircross SUV. The showroom will have numerous screens, debuting the ATAWADAC experience (AnyTime AnyWhere AnyDevice AnyContent) and a unique High Definition 3D configurator allowing customers to experience the product with a 360° view and personalise their product and services.”

Citroen will also have mobile La Maison showrooms in India. These are truck trailer-based showrooms that will travel to different cities and will allow the citizens to experience a full-fledged La Maison showroom.

Citroen C5 Aircross SUV

The Citroen C5 Aircross is a completely knocked down (CKD) product that will have a commanding price tag of around Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom. The five-seater SUV boasts segment-leading comfort with its uniquely designed suspension set-up that gulps all kind of potholes and undulations on the road. Citroen will offer the C5 Aircross in only two variants – Feel and Shine. The top-end version comes equipped with features like LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, contrasting highlights all over and a beautiful design that will turn a lot of heads on the roads.

The C5 Aircross also offers a range of high-end features inside the cabin. This includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 6-speaker audio system, comfortable seats with two different types of foam, an electrically adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control system, gesture-controlled electric powered tailgate, and a massive panoramic sunroof.

Citroen will launch the C5 Aircross only with a diesel engine option. It will get a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum power of174 Bhp at 3,750 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm. It gets an 8-speed automatic transmission. Safety-wise, the C5 Aircross gets 6 airbags, ESP, hill start assist, hill descent control, traction control, Blind Spot Monitoring system, electric parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.
