Birla Corporation appoints Arvind Pathak as MD and CFO; Stock dips 1%

Birla Corporation Limited has announced some changes in the Directorate.

Arvind Pathak has been appointed as an Additional Director and simultaneously the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He is appointed for a period of 3 years w.e.f. 31st March, 2021.

Re-designation of Pracheta Majumdar from 'Wholetime Director & Chief Executive Officer' of the Company to 'Wholetime Director designated as Chief Management Advisor' of the Company.

Arvind Pathak has around 38 years of overall experience of which 36 years has been in the cement industry. He has held CEO or equivalent positions for over 14 years in various large organisations which include ACC, DCP, Adani and Reliance ADAG group. He has also been trained in a number of international management institutions.

Shri Pracheta Majumdar, Wholetime Director & Chief Executive Officer, is a former Managing Director of CEAT Tyres Ltd., a Mechanical Engineer and a Management Advisor by profession. He has worked in the fields of design and project management of Chemicals, Petrochemical and Fertilizer Plants.
