CHANDIGARH: A total of 2,873 beneficiaries received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on the second day of the third phase of the ongoing vaccination drive. In the first two days, as many as 4,000 members of the two priority groups have been immunised.
Of 2,873 recipients, 2,288 were in the category of 60 years and above while 585 beneficiaries in the age group of 45-plus with comorbidities were immunised. In Ludhiana, 897 people received the first shot while 397 were jabbed in Mohali, 279 in Amritsar, 275 in Patiala and 133 in Jalandhar.
As many as 4,725 health care and frontline workers received their first dose while 40 frontline workers and 1481 healthcare workers were given the second dose.
730 cases in PunjabPunjab reported 730 fresh cases while 10 people infected with the virus died on Tuesday.
Three deaths were reported in Amritsar while two persons each died in
Gurdaspur and Jalandhar and one each in Mohali, Patiala, and Ropar.
As many as 115 fresh cases were reported in Ludhiana while 113 people were tested positive in
Nawanshahr, 91 in Patiala, 67 in Hoshiarpur, 64 in Kapurthala, 52 in Amritsar, 48 in Mohali, 27 in Tarn Taran, 19 in Gurdaspur, 18 in Sangrur, 15 in Moga, nine each in Pathankot and Faridkot, eight in Bathinda, three in Fatehgarh Sahib, two each in Ferozepur and Muktsar and one in Fazilka.
