Patna, Mar 02 (UNI) Bihar Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha today said technical survey for providing irrigation facilities to every plot in the state was started on January 18 this year and it would be completed within 100 days.
Mr Jha while replying to the debate on budgetary demand of the Water Resources department for the financial year 2021-22, said that the scheme for providing irrigation facilities to every plot in Bihar was launched following the vision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Once Mr Kumar promised to provide irrigation facilities to every plot, people of Bihar were fully assured that promise would be fulfilled at any cost, he added.
The Minister said that a committee of representatives of five departments had been constituted with the Water Resources Department as nodal department for monitoring and execution of
the ambitious scheme. On the directive of Chief Minister Mr Kumar, technical survey for providing irrigation facilities to every plot was launched on January 18 this year. he added.
Mr Jha said that committees at the block level in all 534 blocks of the state had been constituted for surveying while such committees had been constituted at the district level in all 38 districts of the state for regular monitoring of survey works. Survey would be completed within 100 days of its launching on January 18 this year, he added.
The Minister said that survey was being carried out based on the spot assessment of water sources for every plot. It was not that only data were being collected by officials at block or district level, he stated. All officials and technical personnel concerned had been directed to visit the spot personally for conducting the survey, he further added.
