Maruti Suzuki India just launched the much-awaited facelift of the Swift. Swift has been one of the best selling hatchbacks since it was launched. The entry-level base LXi variant now starts from Rs. 5.73 lakhs ex-showroom. However, it does lack a lot of features. That is why some people opt for accessorizing their vehicle. The vlogger first explains that the Swift in the video is an LXi variant that has been modified. The Swift has been equipped with remote central locking that is installed by the dealership itself. The LXi variant does not come with remote central locking from the factory. There is a sticker placed on the windshield that shows what all accessories Swift is equipped with and it also shows the prices of those accessories. The remote central locking costs Rs. 9,790 when installed from the dealership.
The LXi variant gets halogen headlamps whereas the ZXi Plus variant gets an LED projector setup with LED Daytime Running Lamps. The dealership has installed a chrome surround on the mesh grille which costs Rs. 1,990. Then there are the fog lamps which are also installed by the dealership as the LXi variant does not come with foglamps. The fog lamps can be turned on or off from a button that is placed inside. The fog lamps cost Rs. 3,490. The LXi variant comes with steel rims but the dealership has installed blacked-out wheel covers that usually comes with the VXi variant.
A chrome beltline has been installed just beneath the window which costs Rs. 1,590. Moving into the cabin, we get power windows are also an accessory and cost Rs. 11,500. Then there are the seat covers which cost Rs. 6,290. The touchscreen infotainment system has been sourced from Pioneer which comes with a remote and is installed by the dealership for Rs. 11,050. There are 4 speakers placed in the doors which costs Rs. 4,500. Moreover, there is also an antenna for the FM Radio that costs Rs. 128. There is a subtle black surround placed around the tail lamps which cost Rs. 1.090. Overall, the total cost of the accessories is Rs. 51,418.
The 2021 Swift now comes with a DualJet VVT, 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 90 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 113 Nm. The power output has been increased by 7 PS as compared to the previous engine. However, the torque stays the same at 113 Nm. The new engine is also offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. If you opt for the AMT then you get the Electronic Stability Program and Hill Hold Control as standard. There are some subtle cosmetic changes too. For instance, there is a new mesh grille up-front that now comes with a horizontal chrome slat that divides the grille. The 2021 Swift starts from Rs. 5.73 lakhs ex-showroom and goes all the way up to Rs. 8.41 lakhs ex-showroom.
