Kendrapara, Mar 2 (UNI) At least ten passengers, including women, sustained injuries on the wee hour of Tuesday when a private bus carrying them overturned in Kumbhari Hanuman chowk on Orta-Kendrapara road today.
IIC Mahakalapada police station Manoranjan Choudhury said the driver of the bus failed to negotiate a curve due to rash driving.
According to him the bus was carrying around 50 passengers from Badihi, suniti, Benakandha, Deulapada, Bijaynagar and started its journey from Benakanda to Bhubaneswar.
While it was on its way to Bhubaneswar on Ortaghat-Kendrapada road, the bus overturned near an agriculture field after the driver lost control over the wheel.
The injured were rushed to Mahakalapada CHC and later some of the injured were shifted to the district headquarter hospital for treatment. All the injured were safe.
After the incident, the driver and the staff of the bus fled from the spot.
