Be it his several outings for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 or failure with the bat while opening for India in the recently-concluded Test series in Australia, Shaw has become synonymous with online memes and trolling. This were, however, to change when the Mumbai skipper Shaw slammed 227 not out off 152 balls helping Mumbai to a mammoth 457/4 against Puducherry at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur in Elite Group D match of the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Following this, Shaw took over to his Instagram account to share a fan-made meme– in a way responding to all the criticism he has been subjected to in the recent past.
The meme took inspiration from a song by rapper Divine which read: “Edit karke image tune mera meme bana dia, mehnat karke tere bhai ne poora dream bana dia (You edited my image and made a meme out of me, I worked hard to achieve my dream).”
