61 new cases of COVID detected in state

The state, on Saturday, recorded 61 new cases of COVID-19, and no new death linked to the virus, taking the tally of active COVID cases to 598.

Around 50 patients recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours.

With these new cases and recoveries, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stands at 54,932, of which 53,540 patients have defeated the dreaded disease.

Till date, 794 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao – 80, Vasco – 26, Panaji – 46  and Mapusa – 36.

While, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 10, Bicholim – 6, Pernem – 5, Valpoi – 2, Curchorem – 23 and Canacona – 13.

And, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 10, Betki – 8, Candolim – 44, Cansarvanem – 1,  Colvale – 1, Corlim – 10, Chimbel – 46, Siolim – 18, Porvorim – 32, Mayem – 3,  Balli – 7, Cansaulim – 16, Chinchinim – 22, Cortalim – 23, Curtorim – 10, Loutolim – 25, Marcaim – 4, Quepem – 20, Sanguem -3, Shiroda- 3, Dharbandora – 15, Ponda – 28 and Navelim – 2.
