GURUGRAM: A security guard was arrested in UP on Friday, nearly two weeks after he allegedly thrashed his wife to death in Sirhaul. The crime branch of Gurugram police said the man killed his wife in a fit of rage as he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair.
The guard, Satish Kumar Singh, was employed with a private firm in Udyog Vihar. He married Ruby eight years ago and the couple had two children.
Akshay Singh, Ruby’s brother and a resident of Delhi, told police that he received a call from his sister’s neighbour on February 14, saying Ruby had been beaten to death by Satish. “On that day, Satish started thrashing Ruby near the Shani mandir in Sirhaul and dragged her to their rented house, around 500 metres away. He beat her up badly and then strangled her. Satish left the body there and fled,” said Singh.
A case was registered against Satish under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC at Sector 18 police station. After several days of manhunt, a police team nabbed Satish from his hometown in Mainpur district of UP.
