nCov: 24 more test positive in Kangra, total caseload at 8430: CMO

Dharamshala, Feb 27 (UNI) With 24 more persons testing positive for the lethal Novel Coronavirus on Saturday, the Kangra district caseload rose to 8430.
According to Chief Medical Officer of Kangra Gurdharshan Gupta, the new cases included 20 males from Sidhbari Dharamshala, including 19 Tibetans.
He said there was no death in the district due to COVID-19 on Saturday, keeping the death toll steady at 207.
The CMO said there were eight recoveries in the district today, taking the number of people who recovered in the district to 8132.
The number of active cases in the district further went up to 90 on Saturday, from 74 on Friday.
The 20 male patients have been isolated as per the protocol, he added.
Dr Gupta said the 19 Tibetans belonged to Gyatso Monastery in Siddhabari, Ward Number 7 of Dharamshala.
The place was declared as Containment Zone on Friday, after a dozen COVID-19 patients were detected in this Monastery and
restrictions were imposed till March 10, 2021.
