MET predicts heat wave condition in eight Odisha districts for next two days

Bhubaneswar,Feb 27 (UNI) Heat wave condition will prevail in eight districts of Odisha, including the capital city Bhubaneswar for the next two to three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin.
The IMD, in a mid-day bulletin, said that the maximum day temperature will remain 3-4 degrees Celsius above normal in the districts of Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore ,Angul , Mayurbhanja and Khurda including Bhubaneswar at many places during next 3-4 days.
The weather department advised people to take precautionary measures while going out around noon from 1100hrs to 1500hrs.
Bhubaneswar, like Friday, recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.4 degree Celsius.6.4 degree Celsius above normal.
MET sources said the highest maximum in the month of February in Bhubaneswar city during the last 10 years was recorded as 40.9 degree Celsius on February 20, 2016 and all time observational record of maximum temperature in Bhubaneswar city was 42.7 degree Celsius on February 23,1963.
As many as 13 places in Odisha today recorded maximum temperature above 38 degree Celsius.
