A TikTok user claimed her life is a lie after she found out that Elmlea is not double cream. She posed the question, “How old were you when you found out that Elmlea is not actually double cream?” on TikTok and it turns out a lot of people were unaware of the fact that Elmea is a cream substitute.
Sara Abdul shared a video after she realized that the product she had been buying from the supermarket isn’t what she thought it was. Sharing the clip with the caption, “My whole life has been a lie,”Sarah can be seen holding a pot of Elmlea while saying, “It’s an alternative to cream, what the heck?”
Sarah zoomed on the packaging to show that the word ‘alternative’ is written at the bottom.
“It’s actually a blend of buttermilk and vegetable oils. I’m so shocked,”she addedas she flippedit around to show the contents of the stuff. The video has a sticker on which reads, “Did you know?”
Theclip has been viewed more than 130,000 times since it was shared on February 24, with hundreds of people admitting that they had no idea that it wasn’t cream, reports Daily Star.
One of the users wrote, “I was today years old…,” another responded saying that he was wondering about this recently because the expiry date was so far away. A user who also had found the fact by the video replied, “So this is why my cheesecake never works haha.”
Some were shocked that while they knew about this for years, some were finding about this through TikTok. One shocked user asked how could anyone not know this and states that it says double but can’t have word cream on it because it’s veg oil and other chemicals.
Another user wrote that is why he never bought this as it’s hard to work with and doesn’t whip well.
