A couple of days ago, the makers of Chehre had dropped the first poster of their upcoming thriller online. It featured Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Annu Kapoor, Krystle D'souza, Raghubir Yadav and Bengali actor Dhritiman Chatterjee on the poster. But surprisingly, Rhea Chakraborty, who has been in the news for her alleged connection in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, was left out from the poster release. After all that has happened in her life, Rhea was waiting to make a comeback in films. But this snub by the makers of Chehre has now raised several questions on Rhea's possible comeback. It was being said that Rhea was left completely shattered and shocked after she went missing on the Chehre poster. But her close friend seems confident that Rhea will over this hurdle as well. "Not even in her wildest dream had Rhea anticipated this snub. After all that she had gone through in 2020 she was somehow trying to piece together her life again…only to be rudely awakened to this. She is not welcome in Bollywood,it seems,” the friend was quoted as saying by Spotboye. The friend further added, “After what she went through, do you think this snub would shatter her? Not at all. She has fought many hurdles during the last year. She would fight this one too.” Also Read - From RRR to KGF 2: Here are 5 Bollywood-south crossover ventures, which can set new records in 2021
Because of this snub, there's a chatter in the industry whether Rhea's role will also be removed from the film's final cut. Her fans and well-wishers are apparently concerned if the Bollywood industry would accept her with open arms. Director Rumi Jaffrey's deafening silence has also raised eyebrows over the matter. For the uninitiated, the director had been constantly supporting Rhea when she was being questioned in Sushant's death case. He had also revealed that he wanted to make a film with Rhea and Sushant who would have shared screen for the first time.
"Rumi Jaffrey had no say in the matter. He was not consulted about the date of release of Chehre. Or about Rhea going missing from the poster,” a source told the entertainment portal. It remains to be seen if the makers will give us a glimpse of Rhea in the upcoming teaser or the trailer of the film. Let's wait and watch.
Chehre has been confirmed for theatrical release on April 30. The thriller has been helmed by Rummy Jafry and produced by Anand Pandit.
