Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) announces its annual conference (2020-21) which will take place during March 27-28, 2021 (weekend) in virtual/online mode in cooperation with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad. The aim of the conference is to encourage more women to pursue higher education in mathematics and create networking opportunities that will enable them to take up teaching and research careers in mathematics.

The speakers in the conference are outstanding women mathematicians from India and abroad. In addition to the invited talks, there will be break out sessions that will facilitate interactions of young researchers with senior mathematicians. More information can be found on the conference website:

Those from the mathematics community who are students (Masters/M.Phil/PhD), post-doctoral fellows and faculty in colleges, universities and other educational institutions are eligible to apply. Advanced Ph.D. students, early-career researchers and prospective participants from other SAARC nations are also encouraged to apply.

Participation is not restricted to women, others are welcome to apply, especially those in the early stages of their careers. The application form is on the conference website. The last date for application is 7 March, 2021.

The conference and other activities of IWM are funded by the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), DAE, Govt. of India and supported by the Committee for Women in Mathematics (CWM) which is under the umbrella of the International Mathematical Union (IMU).
