KOLKATA: Police on Friday recovered the body of a woman and arrested her husband when he was trying to flee after dumping it near Basanti Highway, an official said.
Acting on information received from a patrolling team, the man, who was escaping in a car, was stopped at Jibantala and detained, he said.
There were blood stains on the vehicle, the official added.
During interrogation, the man confessed about killing his wife on Thursday night and dumping her body, police said.
The body of the woman has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is under way.
