Sikkim braces up for Municipal polls, 67 Polling, Presiding Officers trained

Gangtok, Feb 26 (UNI) Training of Presiding and Polling officers for the ensuing Municipal elections concluded here on Friday.
Additional District Collector, East, Tushar Nikhare presided over the training programme. He was joined by Sub-Divisional Magistrate HQ, Anand Sharma.
Total 67 trainees attended the training today, including 30 Presiding Officers and 37 Polling
Officers.
Issues such as DOs and DON'Ts were explained to the trainees in detail. Information about the mechanism and working of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail was given to them.
During the hands-on sessions, the trainees acquired first-hand experience on the EVMs.
