NEW DELHI: Domestic equity indices, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, were trading in the red on Friday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Shares of Sadhana Nitrochem ( 19.90 per cent) , Eveready Industries ( 18.58 per cent) , Binny Ltd ( 16.11 per cent) , Dredging Corp ( 15.02 per cent) , National Fertilizers ( 15.00 per cent) , Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers ( 13.37 per cent) , Dynamatic Tech ( 11.42 per cent) , Pecos Hotels & Pubs ( 11.36 per cent) , Rane (Madras) ( 10.31 per cent) and Bright Brothers ( 10.21 per cent) rallied over 10 per cent.
The 30-share Sensex was trading 1603.4 points down at 49435.91, while the 50-share Nifty index was 466.9 points down at 14630.45.
In the Nifty 50 index, 4 stocks were trading in the green, while 46 stocks were in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Hind Copper, Thermax, Dalmia Bharat, Blue Star Ltd, NALCO, Linde India, Dilip Buildcon, Astral Poly Tech, BEML and APL Apollo Tube hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade.
