Hyderabad: Hottest day of the season till now

Hyderabad residents on Friday got the first taste of summer as the mercury soared to 36 degree Celsius on Friday. According to data available with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad, and AccuWeather, this is the highest temperature recorded so far this season.

While the nights have been cool in February, with the minimum temperatures hovering between 14 degree Celsius and 21 degree Celsius, the days have steadily been getting hotter, especially over the last one week. Last Friday, the maximum temperature, according to AccuWeather was only 28 degree Celsius.

With a difference of eight degrees over the last one week, summer seems to be coming early. Also according to the IMD website, the 36 degree temperature recorded on Friday is a difference of 2 degree Celsius from the normal.

Around the same time last year, i.e. in the last week of February 2020, the maximum temperature recorded was 35 degree Celsius.

The IMD website also forecasts a maximum temperature of around 35 degree Celsius over the next one week, with the minimum temperatures also rising from high tens to low twenties.
