Two women killed in road accident

Nashik, Feb 25 (UNI) Two women from one family were killed and five passengers were seriously injured when a speeding truck collided head-on with a small tempo on Girnare-Dhondegaon road in Trimbak tehsil of the district on Wednesday night. The injured person has been admitted to the district government hospital.

According to the taluma police, the deceased identified as Nirmala Janadhan Palve (30) and Rekha alias Poonam Valmik Palve (35) both resident Gangamhalungi village. On Wednesday (yesterday) night the Palve family was traveling in their tempo from Girnar to Gangamhalungi the tempo was moving towards Harsul. The truck coming in the opposite direction , the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the front tempo. The impact was so severe that the tempo overturned on the side of the road. All the passengers in the tempo including men ,women and tempo driver were thrown aside. In the darkness of the night, no one knew who had fallen or where.
The nearby villagers rushed to the spot and they helped the injured person. The injured were rushed to the district government hospital by a private vehicle. He also contacted the ambulance and asked for help at the accident site. Ambulances reached the spot in no time. All the injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment. While undergoing treatment, Nirmala Janardan Palve (30) died at night in hospital while Rekha alias Poonam Valmik Palve (35) died on Thursday (Today) morning.

The truck driver fled the scene after the accident and a case was registered against him at the Taluka Police Station on Thursday evening. The taluka police is conducting further investigation in this regard.
