Ludhiana suffers hottest February day in more than 50 years

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana witnessed the hottest day of February in more than fifty years as the day temperature crossed 30 degrees mark on Friday.
The School of Climate Change and Agricultural Meteorology at PAU meanwhile predicts weather disturbance to arrive in city around Sunday.
As per the PAU, the maximum temperature in Ludhiana on Friday was recorded at 30.2 degrees Celsius, which is 7.6 degrees more than normal.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in the city on Friday was recorded at 12.6 degrees Celsius, which is 3.5 degree more than normal.
PAU weather expert Kulwinder Kaur Gill said that the day temperature has not been reached the present value since 1970. She added that day temperature has reached 29 degrees in 2006, 2001 and 1973, but it has never reached 30.2 degree Celsius.
The weather expert said that in the coming days, around February 28, western disturbance and light showers are expected. She added that temperatures might fall after the rain.
