Boulder police arrested man who barricaded himself in Tantra Lake apartment

Feb. 26—Boulder police on Thursday arrested a man who had barricaded himself inside his Boulder apartment.

In an email, Boulder Police Department spokeswoman Dionne Waugh stated that the department arrested a man who had barricaded himself inside his Tantra Lake Apartment on Thursday afternoon.

"If you saw several law enforcement vehicles (including SWAT) in your neighborhood this afternoon, we wanted to let you know what was going on and that there is no threat to public safety," BPD spokeswoman Dionne Waugh wrote in an email Thursday.

The man came out of his apartment after speaking to officers after briefly barricading himself inside Waugh wrote. He was then taken into custody without further incident. No one was injured in the incident.

According to Waugh, the man had outstanding warrants, but that the investigation is still ongoing. Information about the man's identity or possible charges were not available Thursday.
