Two OGWs of Lashker arrested in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 26 (UNI) Security forces on Friday arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, a police spokesman said Friday evening.

He said acting on specific inputs, Bandipora police along with 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 45 batallion CRPF apprehended two OGWs of LeT in a joint operation at Bonikhan Mohalla, Hajin.

They have been identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Khan, son of Nazir Ahmad Khan, resident of Paribal Hajin and Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Ahad Bhat, resident of Bonikhan Mohalla Hajin.

During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that both the OGWs were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to active of LeT militants in Sumbal and Hajin areas of district Bandipora.

Arms and ammunition including 2 live Grenades and 8 live rounds of AK-47 have been recovered from them.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Hajin and further investigation has been taken up.

COVID: J&K reports 85 new +ve cases, one death
