Travelling Without Check-In Baggage For Domestic Travel: Your Air Fare Shall Be Reduced
After the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, there was largely a hit on the aviation, hospital and tourism sector and post the easing of restrictions, airlines resorted to recovering the losses by hiking the fare.

But now as gradually, things are coming back on track, as per the latest guidelines of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), people travelling without check-in baggage will soon become cheaper. This is however applicable for domestic travel.
The statement by the DGCA said that for domestic travelers, air flight operators have been given the flexibility to cut down on the air fares if they carry only the cabin baggage.
"As part of airline baggage policy, scheduled airlines will be allowed to offer free baggage allowance as well as "zero baggage/no check in baggage fares". This will be subject to the condition that the passenger booking ticket under such fare scheme is made aware of the charges that shall be applicable if the passenger turns up with the baggage for check in at the airline counter. These applicable charges shall be reasonable; prominently displayed to the passenger at the time of booking of ticket and also to be printed on the ticket," the aviation watchdog said in a statement.
