The war of words between former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and veteran Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been all over the news recently. Sarfaraz and Hafeez were involved in an ugly war of words on Twitter when the latter took an indirect dig at Sarfaraz by calling Mohammad Rizwan the number one wicketkeeper-batsman of Pakistan.

However, on Monday, the duo reignited their cricket rivalry in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, when the Lahore Qalandars crossed swords against the Quetta Gladiators in the fourth tournament. The high-voltage clash played at the National Stadium, the Qalandars won against Safaraz Ahmed-led Gladiators. In a surprising turn of events, Ahmed came up with a noteworthy gesture following the conclusion of the match.

The incident occurred when the players were walking off the field after the game ended. And just before the Gladiators squad members and coaching staff walked out to shake hands with the opposing team. Ahmed was seen asking Hafeez to lead the men on the field. An equally surprised Hafeez initially hesitated but eventually decided to accept the former’s proposal. The warm gesture was captured by the camera crew and ever since shared online it has become the talk of the town.
