Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan was rewarded for his stellar performance in the last season of the Indian Premier League(IPL). He earned his maiden call for the national team and has described the feeling as surreal. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently declared a 19-member squad for the forthcoming five-match T20I series versus England. The left-hander got the maiden national call-up along with his IPL side, Mumbai Indian teammate. Rajasthan Royals’ explosive all-rounder Rahul Tewatia is also among the ones donning the Indian jersey for the first time.

Now, Ishan has expressed his reaction for the first time since his India call-up dream came true, last week. Overwhelmed to receive the great news, Ishan has extended his gratitude to all the fans and well-wishers who congratulated the young cricketer. Ever since, the three players made their way into the national team for the first time, congratulatory messages have been flooding the internet from all across the cricket fraternity.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Ishan thanked fans for their messages and promised to continue working hard. He went on to describe the feeling as a surreal one as he always dreamt of playing for his nation someday.

Ishan had an outstanding campaign in the IPL, last year which was held in the UAE. He ended the season by making his way among the highest run-scorers for his side, at the top of the order. The explosive youngster concluded the tournament with 516 runs from the 14 matches he featured in. His heroics played a crucial role in the defending champions, Mumbai Indians winning their record fifth title.

The pocket dynamite celebrated his inclusion for the England T20Is by putting up a score of 173 off 94 against Madhya Pradesh. The stunning knock comprised 19 boundaries and 11 maximums. As a result, Jharkhand won by a huge margin of 324 runs.
